This exhibition, which was shown in 2008 at the Biennale Architecture in Venice and at the Polytechnico in Milan, provides a comprehensive insight into Vienna’s social housing. The Vienna Ringturm will host an exhibition of 29 projects realised as part of publicly funded housing initiatives, and it will also be shown how they fit into current city planning projects – with a particular focus on their social and ecological aspects. Vienna began to implement functional and liveable housing in the 1920s and 1930s. Since then, the city has gradually been developing its housing policy, which has contributed significantly to improving quality of life in Vienna.
